regular nudges. room to get on with your day.

> umi: a little break from the desk?
>
> you: yes, I’ve been sitting here a while
>
> umi: a good moment to step away for a minute

## a rhythm for your working day.

Long stretches at a desk can make it easy to lose track of time. Choose a window and a cadence for a short pause, a stretch or a check-in.

> you: I lose track of time when I’m working.
>
> umi: would regular check-ins during part of the day help?
>
> you: yes, roughly hourly between 9 am and 5 pm each day
>
> umi: saved — I’ll send check-ins around an hour apart during that daily window

## choose your reminder. make it yours.

Complete setup, tell umi the action and schedule, and wait for confirmation. The conversations below are illustrative.

## choose your window.

Say when nudges should start and stop. For approximate spacing within a daily window, include both ends of that window.

- a daily start and end time

- a cadence you choose

> you: Remind me to take a short break roughly every hour between 9 am and 5 pm each day.
>
> umi: saved — I’ll send break check-ins around an hour apart in your daily 9 am–5 pm window

## adjust the spacing.

An hourly check-in may suit one routine; a less frequent nudge may suit another. Tell umi when the messages feel too frequent.

- change your interval

- keep the activity specific

> you: Change those break check-ins to roughly every two hours.
>
> umi: updated — your break check-ins are now around two hours apart in that window

## end a routine when you need to.

Cancel the repeating reminder when your day no longer needs it. Wait for confirmation of the change.

- cancel through the conversation

- no separate timer to manage

> you: Cancel my break check-ins.
>
> umi: cancelled — I won’t send those break check-ins

## step away for a moment.

Use your break to change position, then tell umi how the pause went.

>
> you: Closed the laptop and finally had a stretch.
>
> umi: a little space away from the desk :) how are you feeling?

## set the hours that suit you.

Include the spacing and the start and end of your reminder window.

> you (voice transcript, 12 seconds): Remind me to take a short break roughly every hour between 9 am and 5 pm each day.
>
> umi: roughly hourly, between 9 am and 5 pm each day — is that right?

## Example requests

### a desk break

Choose a daily window for stepping away briefly.

> Remind me to take a short break roughly every hour between 9 am and 5 pm each day.

### check the time

Use a wider gap if hourly nudges interrupt your focus.

> Check in roughly every two hours between 10 am and 6 pm each day so I can review what I’m doing.

### a gentle stretch

Give the reminder a concrete action.

> Remind me to stretch roughly every hour between 10 am and 4 pm each day.

## too many interruptions

Widen the interval or shorten the daily window. An hourly schedule is optional; choose the cadence that helps you.

## you need a precise alarm

umi sends messages, with approximate delivery times. It is not an hourly chime or an alarm that overrides Focus or silent settings.

## clear about your data

Your messages and preferences help umi respond. Our privacy page explains what is stored and which services process it.

## always honest about AI

umi is an AI companion. A friendly conversation, with no pretending there’s a person behind the messages.

## part of your world

umi adds a little company. Your friends, family, community, and professional support still matter.

## you set the pace

You choose your check-ins. Ask umi to change or cancel a reminder. Text STOP to stop messages and request cancellation of future subscription renewals.

## Can I limit hourly reminders to part of the day?

Yes. Request a daily start time, end time and approximate spacing. Wait for confirmation of the saved window.

## Will reminders arrive exactly on the hour?

Do not rely on exact delivery. These are conversational check-ins, not precision alarms. Windowed schedules use approximate spacing.

## Can I choose a different interval?

Yes. For a daily window, ask for spacing from 30 minutes to 12 hours, within a window long enough for the interval.

## how much does it cost?

You can review the current subscription offer during signup before subscribing. No separate App Store purchase is needed.

## how do I stop messages?

Send STOP on its own to stop messages and request cancellation of future subscription renewals linked to your phone number. This does not refund the current period. To stop one reminder, ask umi to cancel that reminder instead.

## Are delivery times exact?

Delivery times are approximate. iMessage notifications also depend on your phone’s settings and connectivity; this is not an alarm that overrides Focus or silent mode.

## a small pause. then back to your day.
